The final “term” (1/2 term) of classes begins Thursday 1 December, Friday December 2 and Saturday December 3, and ends Thursday December 15, Friday December 16, and Saturday December 17, with 4 available places per class time. Classes are $30 per hour.

Saturdays class is from 1-4.

Wood Bending: getting bent for furniture making and sculpture

In this workshop we will spend 3 hands-on days exploring bending techniques for use in studio furniture and sculpture. We will work with steam bending, laminating, kerf-bending and hot-pipe bending, and investigate a range of approaches to each technique. We will also make straps, jigs and formers for various approaches to bending and laminating, and discuss the construction of steam boxes and vacuum bags.
