A new Studio location and new learning opportunities

Karla and I have moved to Mount Egerton where we have been establishing our new studios. Mount Egerton is in Central Victoria - between Melbourne and Ballarat, and Geelong and Daylesford.

We will be offering new workshops and classes in 2026.

To begin we are seeking Expressions of interest for these 5 day intensives for intermediate and advanced woodworkers.

Make a chair

Chairs are a stumbling block for many woodworkers. In this 5 day class we will build a contemporary version of a classic dining chair, with compound mortise and tenon joinery, with all participants building to a standardised plan. Individual variations will be possible through the shaping and spacing of lumbar support slats and shaping of the crest rail. You will leave with the capacity to undertake complex chair construction. Requires woodworking experience, we recommend having at least completed the equivalent of a hand tools fundamentals course, and an introductory wood machining course before undertaking a chair. 5 days, class size limited to 4.
